Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Lead analysis and reporting to support the daily operation of 61,000+ General Equipment railcars ensuring optimal car utilization is attained in a fair and equitable manner to TTX’s railroad partners. The TTX General Equipment fleet is primarily used to move Paper & Forest products as well as Metals and Heavy Machinery. This position will require a thorough understanding of TTX enterprise systems and how these impact the fleets and day-to-day activities. It also ensures the needs of all railroad partners are met in a professional manner.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitoring data integrity

  • Perform audits of assigned fleets to ensure TTX maximizes fleet efficiency & usage (with regards to car hire status)
  • Ensure proper data flow across internal and external systems (e.g. UMLER) for critical car management fields
  • Heavy duty invoice validity review to ensure invoice amounts align with event reporting received from carriers
  • Review and audit of key data pertaining to TTX Supplements for the General Equipment fleets
  • Primary involvement in data stewardship initiatives and processes

Administrative Tracking

  • General Equipment report management and distribution
  • Track and document heavy duty fleet in need of routine maintenance
  • Track and report on outstanding heavy duty invoices to our owner roads
  • Support the team on car hire relief requests, pool additions, deck cleanings and other tasks as assigned

Cross Department Collaboration

  • Partner with Accounts Receivable to ensure valid invoice disputes are processed
  • Collaborate with IT and execute testing for system updates as needed

Other

  • Gain proficiency in TTX data schemas, fleet management metrics, and BI tools
  • Develop analytics that assist the team in decision making
  • Document and update SOPs
  • Maintain customer contacts and distribution lists
  • Assist in coordination of any TTX hosted meetings
  • Develop knowledge of TTX Car Contracts and agreements

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university
  • One to two years minimum of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Preferred experience in developing queries and analytical reports in tools such as SQL, Python, and/ or able to develop reports and dashboards in Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Ability to be self-motivated and learn new computer applications quickly.
  • Ability to perform Ad Hoc reporting using Microsoft Suite and other visual data products
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are required
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks according to urgency and department objectives. Able to thrive in a team environment or work autonomously
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, have the ability to understand and set priorities, and display a sense of urgency
  • Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
  • Willing to travel, sometimes including overnight or multi-day visits.
