About the Role

Broward Children's Center (BCC) is seeking a contracted Pediatric Dietitian to provide on-site nutritional support across all our facilities, including our skilled nursing facility, group homes, and schools. This role will primarily focus on pediatric clients, including infants, young adults, and medically fragile children, while also requiring experience with adult nutrition.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement individualized nutrition plans for pediatric and young adult clients, ensuring dietary needs align with medical conditions and treatment plans.
  • Provide specialized nutrition support for children with G-tubes, NG-tubes, tracheostomies, and ventilators.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, nurses, therapists, school personnel, and caregivers to optimize dietary interventions.
  • Conduct nutritional assessments and ongoing monitoring for clients in our skilled nursing facility, group homes, and schools.
  • Supervise two cooks, ensuring meal preparation aligns with dietary guidelines and client needs.
  • Develop menus and shopping lists, ensuring balanced, nutritious, and regulation-compliant meal options.
  • Provide menus to relevant staff for implementation across all facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal nutrition regulations, including those for healthcare facilities and school settings.
  • Educate families, caregivers, and staff on dietary guidelines, feeding protocols, and best practices in nutrition.

Qualifications

  • ✅ Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with active Florida licensure.
  • ✅ Experience in pediatric nutrition, particularly with medically complex cases.
  • ✅ Familiarity with the School Lunch Program (NSLP) and the Federal Food and Nutrition Program is preferred.
  • ✅ Knowledge of school nutrition regulations and guidelines.
  • ✅ Experience with enteral and parenteral nutrition, food allergies, and metabolic disorders.
  • ✅ Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility, hospital, or pediatric healthcare setting is highly preferred.
