Job Description

Summary : Responsible to deliver company products to customers in a timely fashion and ensure efficient, professional and consistent operation to satisfy customer requirements. The position requires operation of a commercial vehicle on roadways, following proper processes, procedures, and the day-to-day requirements of the job. Specific responsibilities/duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Primary Responsibility/Duties
    • Must maintain acceptable driving record and comply with DOT requirements both physical and administrative
    • Drive delivery truck with capacity of less than 26,000 GVW to deliver products to customers in a safe and responsible manner while complying with federal and mandated laws
    • Ability to lift, carry and deliver cases of product averaging 40+ lbs in weight and an average route of 30 stops/300 cases/day
    • Ability to read invoices and manifests to ensure accurate products are delivered to each customer
    • Delivery of product to customer designated areas protecting against breakage, theft and any mishandling of product
    • Receive, verify, and safeguard all payments for products ensuring safe, accurate and complete money transactions
    • Communication with sales personnel assisting to satisfy the needs of customers 
    • Communication with the Fleet Manager regarding any issues during the route
    • Reports, documents, and when necessary corrects any order discrepancies to maintain good customer service 
    • Must maintain all driver logs and complete all pre-trip and post-trip DOT inspections on equipment identifying any maintenance issues with the vehicle(s).
  2. Additional Responsibilities/Duties:
    • Ensure load is secured to prevent breakage
    • Complete all necessary paperwork related to deliveries and collect payments from customers
    • Keep interior of truck organized, clean and smoke free
    • Report all mispicks/shorts/discrepancies to Fleet Manager/supervisor
  3. Other Duties as assigned – please note duties, responsibilities and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma, some college preferred.
  • Current Valid Driver License and clean driving record required, Commercial Driver license(CDL) desirable
  • Experience in distribution and sales environment desirable

Specific Knowledge, skills, licenses, certifications etc:

  • Work independently and be self motivated
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills, language skills that allow the employee to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
  • Must exhibit professionalism with customers at all times to include proper dress attire representing the company.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain Department of Transportation (DOT) certification required
  • Knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and compliance

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, lift, carry, talk and hear. The employee is constantly required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and walk. 
  • The employee must be able to frequently lift and/or move 40+ pounds in weight. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. 
Tuesday-Friday 10 hour days

Compensation details: 20-25 Hourly Wage
