Job Description

AllSTEM Connections is seeking a Food Regulatory & Labeling Specialist to work onsite in Stratford, CT.

This is a full-time, direct hire position.

Salary range is from $70k-$100k, depending on experience.

M-F, 8AM - 5PM.

SUMMARY:

Our confidential pasta maker client continues a tradition of innovation offering chef-inspired fillings, using cutting-edge culinary flavor combinations. This role will be responsible for meeting project timelines/deadlines including the impact of new ingredients on operations,review andapproval of packaging label copy and nutritional informationwhile ensuring compliance with US/International packaging labeling requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Obtain USDA packaging approval on applicable products.
  • Handle multiple label packaging projects working cross-functionally and execute responsibilities with a high degree of thoroughness.
  • Update nutritional database and corresponding ingredient specification information using Genesis R&D software or equivalent.
  • Creating and maintaining finished product specifications.
  • Proof packaging artwork for accurate information at each stage in the design process (e.g., initial graphics review, printing, production, etc.).
  • Clarify necessary revisions with the graphics department and ensure follow-up through effective written and verbal communication.
  • Review finished product packaging specification against ingredient specifications, nutritional software, and label approvals for accuracy.
  • Communicate up-to-date information on current US/International labeling and food product regulations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Update workflow for label reviews, product reviews, and sign-off on processes needed by required business teams.
  • Maintain documentation to support on-package claims (non-GMO, organic, gluten-free, etc.).
  • Maintain a system/database of final packaging and/or labels to include supporting documentation needed for compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned by Senior Management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year degree in Food Science or Nutrition and at least some coursework in FOOD Labeling & Nutrition Standards
  • Minimum 2 years of related experience in the food industry
  • Nutritional, Labeling and Regulatory knowledge
  • Familiar with 21 U.S.C. § 2101 regulations
  • Proficiency with Genesis software/ labeling program
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent proofreading/editing skills
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments
