About the role

mogul is seeking a sharp, product-minded developer who’s ready to help scale our platform from thousands to millions of users—and ultimately, to billions of dollars in assets under management. This role reports directly to the CTO and is mission-critical to building the infrastructure powering the future of real estate investing.

You’ll be working across our modern TypeScript stack, which includes Next.js, NestJS, Kubernetes, Docker, and MongoDB . We care deeply about shipping fast, maintaining quality, and automating everything we can along the way.

What’s non-negotiable is a deep sense of ownership, a desire to build for scale, and the ability to execute with minimal hand-holding.

What you'll do

• Report directly to the CTO
• Build and maintain core features across the Next.js frontend and NestJS backend
• Write clear and maintainable TypeScript code
• Contribute to infrastructure decisions as we scale on Kubernetes and Docker
• Review pull requests, write technical specs, and shape the engineering culture at mogul
• Collaborate closely with marketing and operations to bring ideas to life quickly
• Improve developer workflows and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and best practices
• Debug performance issues, handle incidents, and keep our platform resilient
• Help shape product decisions with data and rapid iteration

Required Skills and Technology

• Proficiency in TypeScript , both on the frontend and backend
• Experience building production-grade apps with Next.js and NestJS
• Working knowledge of Docker and containerized deployments
• Experience with Kubernetes (or eagerness to learn quickly)
• GitHub workflows and code reviews
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering and API design
• Ability to learn quickly, prioritize ruthlessly, and work independently
• Comfort balancing speed and quality in a startup environment

Desired Traits

• Previous experience scaling apps to thousands or millions of users
• Interest or experience in automating internal tooling with AI
• Prior experience in fintech or real estate tech a plus, but not required
• Creative problem-solver who thrives in ambiguity and moves fast
• Self motivated with a passion for learning and growth
