Job Title: In-House Counsel

Location: On Site - Near Orlando, FL or Melbourne, FL

Salary: $140,000 - $250,000

About the Manufacturing Company / The Opportunity:

A globally recognized organization at the forefront of national security and advanced technology is seeking a Labor & Employment Counsel to join its legal department. This in-house role is ideal for an experienced attorney who thrives in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment and is ready to lead on a wide range of employment-related matters.

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve pre-litigation claims and administrative agency charges
  • Provide day-to-day legal guidance on employee relations, performance management, terminations, wage and hour issues, leaves of absence, and accommodations
  • Oversee outside counsel in litigation matters, ensuring alignment with internal legal strategy
  • Draft and implement employment policies, agreements, templates, and training programs
  • Advise on compliance and support internal investigations involving harassment, discrimination, and other workplace concerns
  • Stay up to date on employment law developments and help ensure organizational compliance across jurisdictions

Must-Have Skills:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Minimum 7 years of legal practice, with at least 5 years focused exclusively on labor & employment law
  • Member in good standing of any U.S. state bar
  • Security clearance eligibility required

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Licensed to practice law in FL
  • Experience handling claims and administrative complaints without the use of outside counsel.
  • Familiarity with FL wage and hour laws.
  • Experience working on international labor and employment law matters.
  • Background in top-tier law firms or publicly traded companies.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple time-sensitive tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-relations skills.
