Job Description

SUMMARY: Join a dynamic real estate team as their Leasing Associate, supporting the leasing department's management of a diverse property portfolio. This role handles negotiations of new leases and renewals for retail and office transactions as well as providing administrative support to the leasing department. Ideal candidates will possess exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to handling negotiations, lease documentation, and property records management. Requirements include 1+ years of experience in commercial real estate, proficiency in key software tools, and a passion for retail and office dealmaking.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Negotiate new leases and renewals with retail and office tenants, typically under 3,000 SF.
  • Track the leasing department's deal flow, ensuring accurate and timely updates on the status of pending transactions.
  • Accurately prepare lease exhibits using company records, such as floor plans, site plans, legal descriptions, and co-tenant exclusive provisions.
  • Screen and prioritize inbound property inquiries, exercising judgment to identify those requiring immediate attention.
  • Assisting the company’s online presence, coordinating with the website vendor for marketing updates and managing social media posts to enhance visibility.
  • Generate periodic reports on lease expirations, rent escalations, critical dates, and other key metrics using the company’s lease management software.
  • Maintain and update the database of third-party brokers, tracking key dates and terms of their representation agreements.
  • Create and manage active property listings on platforms like LoopNet and Crexi for critical properties where leasing is managed in-house, ensuring timely and accurate updates.
  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the VP, Head of Leasing, including managing emails, calendars, expenses, and travel arrangements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum of one year's experience in commercial real estate, preferably with a focus on retail properties. Recent graduates with relevant internship experience and high academic achievement will also be considered.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with commercial lease terms and their impact on property management.
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency under tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player committed to maintaining consistent procedures for organizational efficiency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe PDF; experience with MRI lease management software is a plus.
