As an Executive Secretary to the General Counsel , you will be responsible for managing complex schedules, handling legal documentation, and facilitating seamless day-to-day operations for the General Counsel and legal department. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and has the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. This position is non-exempt and in person. A passion for worker’s rights and the labor movement is a significant plus.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Prepare and handle a variety of written correspondence, including legal and non-legal communications. Maintain filing and record systems. Support special projects including political initiatives and press communications.
· Provide professional support to General Counsel and legal team.
· Schedule and coordinate arbitrations, meetings, and conferences.
· Support trial and arbitration litigation by organizing exhibits, formatting and editing briefs, filing documents with the Court or National Labor Relations Board, and occasionally assisting in trial and hearing preparation.
· Maintain and organize confidential legal files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
· Handle administrative tasks such as expense reporting, scheduling, and document management.
· Perform other duties as required to support the mission of the Union.

Qualifications:
At least 5 years of related work experience and/or a combination of education and experience that would provide for the following knowledge, skills and abilities:
• Thorough knowledge of office operations
• Skill and use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher and Outlook
• Ability to complete multiple tasks and meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Bilingual in Spanish preferred (with the ability to translate - speaking, reading and writing)
• Paralegal certificate preferred, but not required
