Job Description

A family in Lafayette is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant / House Manager to support the family’s day-to-day household operations and personal needs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, loves taking initiative, and brings a “no task too big or too small” mindset to every day. The family deeply values integrity, kindness, and a proactive approach.

***Please note this is an onsite role in the East Bay/Contra Costa County, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with occasional overtime as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily household operations, including coordinating with the housekeeper, gardeners, and vendors
  • Care for the family dog, including daily walks, vet appointments, and grooming
  • Run errands, including grocery shopping and household restocking
  • Help pack, prepare, and organize for family travel
  • Manage children’s activities and registrations and flexible to assist with pick up/drop offs during the summer/as needed.
  • Maintain household organization and inventory, proactively managing pantries, closets, and supplies
  • Act as the point of contact for household vendors and service providers, overseeing routine and as-needed maintenance
  • Provide light administrative support to the Principal, such as scheduling appointments and managing household calendars
  • Step in to help with seasonal projects, events at home, or special family needs
  • Assist with occasional child-related support when the children are home for the summer
  • Ensure the household runs smoothly whether the family is home or traveling

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of prior experience supporting a private household, HNW family, or as a personal/executive assistant
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills; highly detail-oriented
  • Positive, “get it done” attitude; willing to roll up sleeves for any task
  • Discretion and professionalism in handling confidential information
  • Tech-savvy, comfortable with household scheduling tools and communication apps
  • Must love dogs and feel comfortable caring for them daily
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to run errands as needed
  • Open to candidates relocating (must be committed to moving and/or already in process)
  • Someone who enjoys creating calm and order behind the scenes and takes pride in thoughtful, thorough work

Salary & Benefits:

$100K - $130K annually, based on experience
