JOB SUMMARY

The Product Operations Specialist primarily supports the Manager of Terminal Generated Games Product at the Kentucky Lottery Corporation (KLC). Assists with daily operations of terminal-generated games, including draw games, monitor games, and Fast Play instant games. Supports Scratch-off and Instant Play product categories as capacity allows. Helps manage product objectives and strategies to achieve optimal sales and profit results. Monitors product development and game launch schedules ensuring timelines are met and assists internal and external customers and vendors addressing needs and requests promptly. Maintains product sales reports for historical tracking and works on special projects as assigned. Serves as a crucial role in coordinating activities essential for taking games from concept to launch, including testing phases.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists Product Manager in developing short- and long-term strategies for Terminal-Generated Game Portfolio. Maintains strong game mix, developing game add-ons/features, and designing new games using approved strategies, artwork, and prize structures.

  • Supports management of Fast Play game portfolio by developing strategic roadmaps, tracking sales by game, and monitoring rolling jackpot performance. Collaborates with the gaming vendor to create individual ticket artwork and working papers, assists with KLC customer acceptance testing, and assists in developing game rules.

  • Downloads deliverable game files and artwork for distribution to relevant departments, ad agencies, and vendors.

  • Assists with scheduling and providing creative direction for shows on counter monitors and touch vending machines.

  • Participates in new product development activities, collaborating with cross-functional areas such as Sales, Technology, Research, Finance, and gaming vendor(s) to lead new game launches.

  • Works with Promotions & Production Team to develop point-of-sale materials, promotions, and merchandising materials aimed at increasing sales.

  • Collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams ensuring good communication, innovative thinking, and team cohesiveness.

  • Maintains terminal and ticket messaging calendar and develops messages to send to vendor.

  • Acts as a backup contact for product issue resolution and expertise as needed.

  • Assists with documentation and annual reviews of critical product processes for training and business continuity purposes.

  • Maintains product sales data for historical tracking.

  • Assists Manager of Terminal Generated Games Product with special projects and other duties as assigned.

  • Assists Product Team including the Scratch-off and Instant Play categories with operational duties as needed.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, business, communications, advertising, PR, digital media or web development; related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum three years’ experience with marketing, communications, or product management. Experience in the gaming industry a plus. Terminal Generated Games product line experience within the lottery industry highly preferred.
  • Proven experience working in collaborative, cross-functional teams, such as communications, customer service, information technology, marketing, and vendor partners.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with management staff, peers and employees.
  • Ability to adhere to and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to research and analyze information and data to arrive at valid conclusions. This includes root-cause-analysis, to build recommended corrective action plans.
  • Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining strong partnering relationships.
  • Superior ability to effectively communicate at all levels – verbally and in writing.

Salary Range: $52,836 - $65,994 (Midpoint) . Our goal is to pay a competitive market salary for new employees, which is typically up to the midpoint of our pay ranges. However, final offers for all positions will be based on several factors such as experience level, education, skills and internal pay equity.
