Job Title: Referral Specialist (Bilingual English/Spanish)

Location: San Ysidro, CA 92173

Duration: 4 months with the possibility to extend (based on business need and performance)

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Local travel required for business needs)

Compensation: $25.03 – $28.09 per hour

About the Role

We are urgently seeking a Temporary Referral Specialist to support our team in San Ysidro, CA. This role plays a critical part in ensuring seamless referral processes for our patients and supporting the coordination of care. If you're a bilingual (Spanish/English) professional with referral experience and a passion for helping patients navigate the healthcare system, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

• Process referrals accurately and in a timely manner
• Verify insurance eligibility and authorization requirements
• Communicate with patients, providers, and specialists regarding referral status
• Support both front and back office operations as needed
• Travel locally to support staffing coverage and attend required trainings

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a Referral Specialist
• At least 6 months of experience in a healthcare setting , including front/back office and/or referral authorization
• Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
• High School Diploma or GED required; OR 3+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of formal education
• Valid California Driver’s License and proof of insurance (Local travel required)
• Bilingual in Spanish and English – required
• Coding and Data Processing or Medical Assistant Certificate – preferred but not required
