Job Description:

We seek an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead our temporary network deployment initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical networking knowledge with project management expertise to ensure seamless connectivity for high-profile events, productions, and temporary installations. This role requires exceptional client relationship management skills and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into actionable project plans.

This role requires extensive travel and significant experience in temporary network deployments focused across varying locations ranging from major conference centers to outdoor environments.

This is NOT a remote position, and candidates are expected to be able to report regularly to the Los Angeles office when not traveling for network deployments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Client Relations & Project Planning:

● Serve as the primary project liaison between clients and SUT's team

● Conduct initial client consultations to gather requirements and understand project scope

● Develop detailed scopes of work, including technical specifications and deliverables

● Create and manage project budgets, including equipment rental, labor, and ongoing support costs

● Present technical proposals and solutions to clients

● Manage client expectations and communicate project progress regularly

● Coordinate with clients' IT teams and other stakeholders to ensure alignment

● Develop and maintain long-term client relationships

Project Management & Implementation

● Lead the planning and execution of temporary network deployments

● Create project timelines incorporating setup, event duration, and strike schedules

● Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure event completion

● Manage resource allocation across multiple concurrent projects

● Develop risk management plans and contingency procedures

● Track project budgets and manage change orders

● Create and maintain project documentation and technical diagrams

● Conduct post-event analysis and create client reports

Technical Leadership:

● Review and approve network designs for temporary deployments

● Ensure all solutions meet client requirements and SUT quality standards

● Develop standardized deployment procedures for different event types

● Guide the engineering team in solution development and implementation

● Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends

● Contribute to the development of new service offerings

Network Operations:

● Oversee the design and implementation of temporary network infrastructures

● Plan and manage high-density Wi-Fi deployments for large-scale events

● Coordinate with broadcasting teams for media connectivity requirements

● Ensure network security in temporary environments

● Develop and implement backup and redundancy solutions

● Monitor network performance and implement real-time optimizations

Equipment and Resource Management:

● Coordinate with the fulfillment team on equipment availability and logistics

● Create and implement event staffing plan, including logistics planning

● Manage equipment allocation across multiple projects

● Ensure proper maintenance and testing of deployment equipment

● Develop and maintain equipment inventories for different deployment scenarios

Qualifications:

● Bachelor's degree in technical, business, or hospitality field

● 5+ years of experience in Project Management or Event Management in a technical industry.

● Experience with temporary network deployments and event technology

● Strong understanding of networking technologies, protocols, and best practices.

● Familiarity with event production workflows

● Experience managing high-density Wi-Fi deployments in large venues

● Experience with budget management and resource allocation

● Strong organizational and time management abilities.

● Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written

● Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies

● Excellent client relationship management skills

● Excellent problem-solving and crisis-management abilities

● Knowledge of networking protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs, QoS, etc.)

● Advanced troubleshooting skills across multi-vendor network environments

● Proficient in MS Suite and Google platforms (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, Drive, etc.)

● Knowledge of multiple mobile device platforms (iOS, Android, Windows, etc.)

● Flexible schedule, ability to work weekends, and travel are required.

● Possess a valid Driver’s License and Passport

● Ability to legally operate their own vehicle and company vehicles

Preferred:

● CCNA certification or equivalent

● Knowledge of broadcast and AV networking requirements

● Experience with network automation and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible)

● Experience with outdoor and challenging environment deployments

● Contract negotiation experience

Working Environment:

Work is performed in a fast-paced environment, requiring flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during events. The ability to work in diverse and sometimes challenging environments is essential. Weekend work and flexible hours are often necessary to meet project demands. Physical requirements include the ability to access network equipment throughout the arena.
