Union Utility Worker

Location/Onsite: Oakmont, PA | On-site

Position Title: Local 211 Utility Man

Department: Distribution

Reports To: Distribution Superintendent / Sub - Foreman

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Union Status: Covered under Local 211 Utility Workers of America Agreement

Primary Responsibilities

• Repair Water Main Breaks
• Asphalt, Concrete and Lawn Restoration
• Install / Replace Gate Valves, Main Line, Service Taps and Fire Hydrants
• Inspect the installation of new mains
• Leak Detection
• Loading and unloading material
• Follow all workplace safety procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
• Ability to lift heavy materials (up to 75 lbs.), work outdoors in varying conditions
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to use hand/power tools
• Willingness to learn and follow standard operating procedures
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Union Pay & Progression

• The pay rate for this position is $38.74 per hour. The starting rate for new employees

hired will be 20% per hour below the rate, with an increase of 5% per hour upon

completion of the one hundred eighty days. Every seventh month thereafter, a newly

hired employee shall receive an additional 5% per hour, and after 24 months shall be

paid the full rate.

Work Schedule

• Normal working hours: 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM (Tuesday – Friday)
• Overtime is required
