Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Buyer to join our supply chain team. This position plays a key role in supporting our wire harness production by sourcing and purchasing electrical components, raw materials, and supplies. The ideal candidate has some experience in manufacturing purchasing and is eager to grow within a fast-paced, hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and process purchase orders for a variety of supplies and commodities used in our manufacturing facilities.
• Monitor inventory levels and lead times to ensure on-time delivery of materials to support production schedules.
• Communicate with suppliers regarding order confirmations, shipment tracking, delivery updates, and issue resolution.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to ensure material specifications and quality standards are met.
• Maintain accurate records and transactions in Epicor ERP, including part pricing, lead times, supplier data, and purchase history.
• Assist in sourcing alternate vendors or components due to price changes, obsolescence, or availability issues.
• Help track supplier performance and participate in vendor reviews as needed.
• Participate in cost-saving initiatives and supply chain improvement projects under the direction of the Purchasing Manager.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred.
• 1–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing or electronics environment.
• Familiarity with wire harness components and electrical parts is a strong plus.
• Basic understanding of purchase orders, lead times, and vendor management.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a dynamic environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).

Preferred (but not required):

• Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620 or other industry standards.
• Experience with Epicor ERP is preferred.
• Experience working with ISO-certified quality systems.
• Previous experience in the wire harness, cable assembly, or automotive electrical industry.
