Job Description

**IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL RESIDE WITHIN 25 MILES OF CHATTANOOGA, TN**

This position is responsible for managing our dedicated fleet while servicing our customer at the highest level. The operations manager will develop, coach, and train all employees including drivers. Our on-site manager will also build a strong working relationship with the customer through diligent communication and service. This facility is primarily a Monday - Friday site. Manager must be flexible as work and the customers’ needs may dictate change.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage daily operational planning and execution of all routes.
• Efficiently plan all truck routes while increasing profitability and fully utilizing every driver.
• Ensure on time pickups and deliveries to exceed our customers’ needs.
• Ensure driver safety, including DOT compliance, safe working conditions, and maintaining company standards and policies.
• Enforce and practice all safety rules of the company, government agencies, including but not limited to DOT and OSHA.
• Manage and maintain employee schedules, time off request, PTO, etc.
• Supervise timely communication with customers and drivers.
• Monitor and coordinate completion of all computer work for TMW, Total Mail, Samsara, etc.
• Notify drivers of all changes affecting their route (Customer cancellations, pick-ups, location changes, accidents, etc.)
• Monitor and coordinate load coverage and required expedites.
• Complete all administrative functions on a timely basis as required.
• Problem solves by involving all team members and support staff.
• Build a strong support team utilizing coaching and development planning.
• Provide a high level of professional communication both verbally and written to Toyota.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Knowledge of TMW Suite.
• Planning and Tracking loads.
• Understanding of DOT guidelines including driver HOS rules.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays, while having the ability to adjust work schedule and shift when needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Looking for someone who is driven, detail-oriented, highly organized, and possess the ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Must possess good communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Prior knowledge of the trucking/logistics industry a plus.
• Ability to develop, coach, and motivate a team.

COMPUTER SKILLS:

Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook email required. Knowledge of TMW software is a plus. Must have the ability to learn new programs as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is an office position within our cross-dock facility. You will need to follow all correct and proper PPE requirements set when entering the dock area. Such as but not limited to, wearing a reflective vest, shirt, or jacket.
