Job Title: NECSL Soccer Coach

Location: Peabody, MA

Reports to: North Shore Regional Director

Employment Type: Part-Time / Seasonal

Start Date: Immediately

Position Summary:

FC Greater Boston Bolts Inc., a competitive youth soccer club in the Greater Boston area, is seeking a passionate and committed coach to lead teams competing in the New England Club Soccer League (NECSL). This season role includes coaching during the fall and spring outdoor seasons, as well as participating in indoor winter training sessions to ensure consistent player development throughout the year.

The ideal candidate will bring a player-centered coaching approach, strong communication skills, and a desire to grow within a collaborative club environment.

Key Responsibilities: NECSL Team Coaching (Fall & Spring)

  • Coach 1-3 NECSL teams (various age groups)
  • Deliver 3 structured training sessions per week per team.
  • Manage weekend games, tournaments, and showcases as scheduled.
  • Implement the club’s developmental curriculum with an emphasis on technical skill and tactical understanding.
  • Track player progress and provide regular feedback to players and families.

Winter Indoor Training (January–March)

  • Lead weekly indoor training sessions focused on skill development, quick decision-making, and small-sided play.
  • Maintain continuity in team training and player development throughout the winter months.
  • Help adapt curriculum to suit indoor formats and facility constraints.
  • Certain teams may take part in an winter indoor league or futsal league

General Coaching Responsibilities

  • Attend club meetings, training workshops, and seasonal events (e.g., tryouts).
  • Collaborate with other coaches and age group leaders to ensure consistent messaging and methodology.
  • Serve as a positive representative of the club’s values, mission, and commitment to holistic player growth.

Qualifications:

  • Licensing: Minimum USSF GrassRoots License or equivalent (or actively pursuing).
  • Experience: At least 2 years of experience coaching youth soccer.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends during the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
  • Must pass CORI/SORI background checks and complete Safesport training.

Preferred Attributes:

  • Familiarity with NECSL structure and competition level.
  • Playing or coaching background at the collegiate level.
  • Strong understanding of long-term player development models.
  • Flexible, team-oriented mindset with a passion for teaching and mentoring.

Compensation:

Seasonal stipend based on experience and licensing level. Additional income opportunities available through camps and clinics.
